Losing McClement and with O'reilly in the KHL We're going to be pretty (frank)ed for killing penalties.

Ok so last season our offense was an issue, with a healthy Duchene, and Stastny and Duchene both having better wingers all year long that should be less of a problem.

If we can boost our offense and not fall off to hard defensively, I think we will make it in. Think about the 2009 season... I see Duchene & Stastny reversing roles possibly.

Duchene @ PPG & Stastny @ a 70 point pace... I would even predict Stastny at a PPG pace if I had more faith in Jones.

Avs management has had better luck with their trades when it comes to unspectacular players surprising... But we do know they have the ability to find some hidden gems, I'm hoping that applies to Mitchell.

Apparently his possession numbers and face-off abilities stand out... Possession could be a very good thing with Downie and Hejduk on his wings if he can find a way to get them the puck.

Downie can score in close and Hejduk can play the role of 'sniper'... Avs fans should be keeping their fingers crossed that Mitchell falls into the surprise category. At least he isn't a reclamation project because we really have sucked at those.

Reclamation projects are great! I mean, where would we be without Hunwick and Kobasew!

Mitchell, Olver, Landeskog, Stastny, Jones, Duchene are the six PKers I think. I hope Olver learned how to win faceoffs.

It could be worse, we could still have Porter playing for us.

Very true.

Olver is a pest so he could be great on the PK, Duchene and Jones not so much and Stastny is OK. I'd feel much more comfortable if O'reilly were on the team.

I wouldn't mind the Avs doing poorly this year. We'd only have to suffer through 48 games, plus we really need to improve the blue line. That being said I don't know what effect that would have on the franchise playing poorly after this latest lockout.

Av's have done a good job assembling a solid core of youth, this may not be their year but watch out over the next few years.

What's McClement like even? Don't even know anything bout him! What can you tell me about him?

Pretty much, he'll have a game here and there where he contributes as well, though not many. Of course he was our fourth line center, He'll probably get more ice time on the Leafs (I don't mean for that to be offensive).

That's what we need him for. Our penalty kill has been (frank)ing ABYSMAL for the better part of a decade.

that could be trouble, nice core of Forwards but that D looks pretty suspect

It's solid but doesn't have much of a scoring punch. Hopefully Wilson plays well.
